Following the trade announced earlier this evening between the Montreal Canadiens and the Vegas Golden Knights, many observers doubted that Evgenii Dadonov would be able to play with the Tricolore next year.
We're talking about a player who is good offensively, but we're also talking about a player (another winger) who earns 5 millions per season.
Did the CH acquire him in order to buy out his contract, while releasing Shea Weber's? Is Kent Hughes planning to trade him elsewhere?
"Kent Hughes says he likes the way Dadonov brings an offensive element to the Canadiens, at least for a year. So, for now, Dadonov should play for Montreal next season." - Arpon Basu
"The plan is for Dadonov to play for us next season." - K. Hughes, via Arpon Basu
"We're in 32nd place. We'll evaluate options to create flexibility under the salary cap. Is our intention to trade Dadonov? No. The plan is for him to play with us this year." - Kent Hughes, via Hockey 360
So in the end, we can expect to see Dadonov in a Montreal Canadiens uniform next year. We can't wait to see him in action.
