Anyway, it's been getting a huge reaction ever since.
Today at a press conference, Montreal Canadiens head coach Martin St-Louis, who knows Sutter very well, made a surprising statement.
As Marco Normandin reports, he came to the defense of the Flames' head coach:
"It's not the first time Darryl Sutter has made comments like that. I'm not surprised. I don't think there's any malice in it. You have to know him, because he's a good man."

Interesting. One thing is for sure, St-Louis wouldn't have done this to a young player.
