Surprising statement by Martin St-Louis who came to the defense of Darryl Sutter
Let's quickly recall the facts.
This weekend, young Quebec forward Jakob Pelletier played his first career NHL game, a great moment for him.
And at his post-game press conference, when asked about Pelletier, Sutter pretended not to know who he was.

And he just coldly read his stats off the game sheet.
"At 21, he's still a long way from being a regular in the NHL."

Anyway, it's been getting a huge reaction ever since.
Today at a press conference, Montreal Canadiens head coach Martin St-Louis, who knows Sutter very well, made a surprising statement.
As Marco Normandin reports, he came to the defense of the Flames' head coach:
"It's not the first time Darryl Sutter has made comments like that. I'm not surprised. I don't think there's any malice in it. You have to know him, because he's a good man."

Interesting. One thing is for sure, St-Louis wouldn't have done this to a young player.
