At a press conference in the last few minutes, Montreal Canadiens head coach Martin St-Louis was asked about Cole Caufield's next contract, and the reporters were too insistent for his liking.
It started with him being asked if it could be a distraction, especially in relation to his personal experience.
Martin St. Louis:
"No, because I never negotiated (a contract) during the season."
Journalist:
"Why did you prefer to wait?"
Martin St-Louis:
"I don't remember, I don't remember, I don't know, I don't remember being in a situation like that."
And then another reporter jumps in to ask him another question related to Caufield's upcoming contract. St. Louis got a little impatient and interrupted the reporter's question.
"Listen, boys. I'm not going to talk to you about contracts, boys. If you want to talk about contracts, talk to Cole, talk to Kent, I won't talk about contracts."
- Martin St. Louis
To be seen, starting at the two minute mark in the following video:
Moral of the story: we don't risk to hear Martin St-Louis being asked again on this subject soon, and that's perfectly correct.
