At a press conference after the win over the Detroit Red Wings, Montreal Canadiens head coach Martin St-Louis got into an interesting exchange with a French-speaking journalist about the 10-minute penalty taken by veteran David Savard.

The reporter first mentioned to St-Louis that Savard took a lot of penalties, and look at his response:

- "What do you want to pass (as a message) to David Savard, in a case like that, he's a veteran anyway and he put a lot in!"

- Journalist

- "Did you see the replay of the punishment?"

- Martin St-Louis

- "Yes."

- Journalist

- "There was nothing there"

- Martin St-Louis

- "Yes, but I'm talking about the 10 minutes"

- Journalist

"I know that, but it's because Savard plays such an honest game, he's a really honest player on the ice and he takes care of the team all the time. He's a clean guy on the ice, and he gets given a penalty as well, I understand David and we took care of him for those 10 minutes."

- Martin St. Louis

St-Louis went in with a big plea to defend Savard, and we loved seeing that. To see the clip, it goes right here (between the 3rd and 5th minute):

It says a lot about the atmosphere in the dressing room and the relationship between St-Louis and Savard.
