As you know and as we reported, the New York Islanders took advantage of the visit of the Montreal Canadiens tonight to pay a well-deserved tribute to their former number 22, the great Mike Bossy.
They did a pre-game ceremony, but there were also several other nice nods to Bossy throughout the evening.
Bossy played 10 seasons with the Islanders and was certainly one of the most popular athletes of his generation, as well as a great person.
Notably, proceeds from the 50/50 from tonight's game in New York will go to the Mike Bossy Memorial Fund.
A nice surprise for the great Guy Lafleur.
The Bossy tribute was planned, but there was also a great attention from the Islanders organization. A nice surprise for all of us.
See the official Habs press release:
"A nice thought by the Islanders to also pay tribute to Guy Lafleur tonight." - Montreal Canadiens
Wow! They also took the opportunity to salute Guy Guy Guy!
Must see:
Kudos to the Islanders for this.
