Now that the Montreal Canadiens have officially grabbed the first overall pick in the upcoming National Hockey League Entry Draft, all eyes are on young Shane Wright, who is expected to go in at number one.
But the real question is, do Kent Hughes and the CH organization agree?
It seems so!
Even if Kent Hughes did not want to give any clues, some major new information has just surfaced!
The identity of the player who will be drafted first overall by the CH would already be known!
As mentioned by Marco Normandin (HABSolumentFan), and according to what journalist Louis Butcher of the Journal de Montréal reports, it is indeed Shane Wright who is targeted by the Montreal Canadiens' executives.
Butcher quotes influential people in the hockey world here:
"One fact remains, the final call will go to the Canadiens' general manager. And, in all likelihood and from information we've gotten in recent days from influential people in the hockey world, Kent Hughes would not change his mind: Wright would still be at the top of Montreal's prospect list." - Louis Butcher
So, barring a surprise turn of events, it is indeed Shane Wright who should be selected at the very top, overall, by Kent Hughes and the Tricolore. He is currently the one at the top of the CH's list.
It's promising! With a center line led by Wright and Nick Suzuki, it's starting to be really interesting!
