As the Habs prepare to play their next four games away from home, Martin St-Louis had some good news before his team left for Buffalo.
Forwards Juraj Slafkovsky and Joel Armia as well as defenseman Joel Edmundson will accompany their teammates and could potentially make a return to action during the trip.
Let's just say that Edmundson's return will help the team's young defensive brigade, which struggled quite a bit in Tuesday night's game against the Minnesota Wild. It remains to be seen which of the Habs' young backs will get the nod, but one thing is for sure, it won't be Kaiden Guhle.
The No. 21 has been playing amazing since the start of the season and as Alex Néron of Fanadiens.com reports, his performance could result in a veteran leaving the organization sooner rather than later and it's likely to be Joel Edmundson.
At least that's what Tony Marinaro said when he appeared on BPM Sports.
"We all know the Habs are going to try to trade Joel Edmunson at the trade deadline. The way Guhle is playing, maybe the Habs will agree to liquidate Edmundson early on March 3. If Guhle continues his progression curve like this, there's no point in keeping Joel Edmundson!"
Even if there is still a year of contract left to number 44, his salary of $ 3.5 million per season could attract some teams and in any case, it is unlikely that the veteran is part of the rebuilding of the Habs.
Even though there are rumors that a defenseman of his caliber could bring in a first round pick and as we know, Ken Hughes loves this kind of market since he arrived with the Habs.
