In his column for the Journal de Montréal, the tiger Michel Bergeron believes that winger Jonathan Drouin could go play in Europe in the next few seasons, at least he wouldn't be surprised if it happens.
The Tiger gives as an example his former captain:
"And what about Peter Stastny? He was always at the last minute. It was terrible. One time the bus was supposed to leave at 11:00. At 11:01 a.m., I saw him come out of the hotel and told the driver to go. We left him there. I had enough."
Bergeron also believes that Drouin will receive an offer from another National League team this summer, but obviously at a lower cost. For him, however, even if Jonathan is currently playing good hockey, it is clear that he has no future with the Tricolore. Moreover, he clearly underlines that his coach Martin St-Louis does not really like him. Which, in clear terms, means the pure and simple end of the 27 year old winger in the city.
"Europe could also be an avenue for him."
In the end, the passage of Drouin will have been marked by several controversies and for nothing to help, at the time, Marc Bergevin had obtained him for a certain Mikhail Sergachev.
For our part, we absolutely believe that he still has solid potential and that he still has a place in the NHL. He's been proving it for the past few weeks.
