During the Laval Rocket game yesterday, forward Gabriel Bourque unfortunately left the game after being hit in the head by Dakota Joshua of the Springfield Thunderbirds.
Gabriel Bourque will not return to the game in the third period.
He was hit solidly in the head by Dakota Joshua in the 2nd period. An action that was not punished." - Patrick Friolet
So we're waiting for some fresh news:
"Gabriel Bourque (upper body) and Cedric Paquette (lower body) will be evaluated when they return to Laval.
We will have an update on their condition on Tuesday when the team returns to practice." - Patrick Friolet
These unfortunate injuries to Bourque and Paquette could be tough hits for the Rocket, but let's wait and see tomorrow's evaluations.
ROSTER IMPACTS
As the excellent Andrew Zadarnowski reports, this will be something to keep an eye on, and it could well mean that we could see Joshua Roy and/or Riley Kidney make their professional debuts in Jean-Francois Houle's lineup.
We're talking about two very promising prospects in the organization and there would certainly be a buzz.
It's hard to say that the two are not related (Bourque/Paquette injuries and possible Roy/Kidney entry), but in any case, let's just hope we get some good news tomorrow in terms of injuries.
Then Jean-Francois Houle will make the decisions he has to make and that could indeed mean good news for Riley Kidney as well as for Joshua Roy.
We will definitely be watching tomorrow's announcement closely.
More details to follow!
