After having provoked numerous reactions following his press conference during the previous game against the Ottawa Sens (by accusing Tim Stützle of being a diver), forward Brendan Gallagher had another message to deliver to reporters yesterday.
A much friendlier message this time.
Gallagher apologized for his gesture towards Brady Tkachuk before the game. The number 11 of the CH did not shake the hand of the Sens' captain after the ceremonial face-off before the start of the game.
I would like to apologize for not shaking his hand. It was really a mistake, I have way too much respect for him - Brendan Gallagher
Gallagher made it clear that he didn't mean to send a message to Tkachuk, or ignore him, or disrespect him... It was a simple oversight on his part.
To put this in context, the captains of both teams usually shake hands at the ceremonial puck drop. Yesterday, Brendan Gallagher represented the Habs and Brady Tkachuk represented the Senators.
