Controversial announcement from the Canadiens regarding Arber Xhekaj and the verdict has been reached
As we reported to you yesterday, the Ottawa Senators have sent a clear message to the Montreal Canadiens.
They revealed, well in advance, that they would be fielding an extremely heavy and robust lineup for tonight's game.
All their tough guys (and very few regular players) will be in uniform to face Martin St-Louis's team, after Arber Xhekaj solidly shook them last season.
The verdict has just been reached.
Martin St-Louis is not buying into their game and he will (most likely) leave Xhekaj out tonight.
The defensive pairings are as follows at this morning's practice, which is currently underway.
Matheson Savard
Trudeau - Kovacevic
Keeper - Norlinder

Do you like this decision? It's not unanimous on social media, but one can understand the idea.
Firstly, there is no point in putting Xhekaj at risk in a preseason game, and secondly, Xhekaj played the last game so it makes sense to give him a break.
If you doubt that Sens fans hate Xhekaj, take a short trip to X, you'll quickly realize it by searching his name.
