Last season, young Connor Bedard surprised many fans by revealing the identity of his favorite player.
When asked, Bedard named none other than Tyler Motte, a 5'10" winger who played for the Vancouver Canucks at the time. Motte now has 71 points in 301 career NHL games.
A surprise answer from the young Bedard.
In an interview that just resurfaced, Bedard had added new names:
"Who's your favorite player in the NHL, Connor?"
Two names came to mind: Sidney Crosby and Auston Matthews.
Two solid role models for the youngster, especially considering that according to some experts like Craig Button, Bedard has Crosby's intelligence as well as Matthews' blistering shot.

We are certainly looking forward to seeing him in the NHL, and he is likely to become a fan favorite and role model for many fans.
