It's the news of the day for the Montreal Canadiens, as forward Nick Suzuki has officially become the youngest captain in the organization's history.
Suzuki was preferred to Brendan Gallagher and Joel Edmundson.
There were many reactions to the announcement, including Gallagher, who directly responded:
"Brendan Gallagher asked if he's disappointed he wasn't named captain: 'Absolutely not. I'm very fortunate to have the role that I have on this team, very fortunate to be here for many years - disappointment is not one of the emotions that I felt.'"
- Priyanta Emrith
Also, Gallagher added that everyone is behind Suzuki 100 percent, that he is the man for the job, that they are happy to be led by him and that the young Suzuki is quite a leader.
"He is the heart and soul of our team, he is absolutely ready for this opportunity." - Brendan Gallagher
