Weird scene in Toronto: the Hawks have 45 seconds added to the scoreboard at the very end of the game while they were leading by one goal
Last night, during the game between the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Chicago Blackhawks, we witnessed a peculiar scene.
"Weird situation on this Leafs goal that was cancelled. The Leafs reduced the lead to 3-2 with 6 seconds left, but the goal was overturned following a video review requested by Chicago. (for offside)
So, the clock was rewound and it was 3-1 for the Blackhawks with 51 seconds to play. Do you really want that if you're Chicago? Easier to score 2 goals in 51 seconds than 1 goal in 6 seconds."
Michael Amato
It's indeed an interesting questions.
Did the Hawks make the right choice in giving the powerful Maple Leafs an additional 45 seconds?
What would you have done in their place? Keep it at 3-2 with 6 seconds left, or revert to 3-1 with 51 seconds left?
See the sequence in question here.
In the end, Chicago won the game.
