Many hockey fans knew forward Nic Kerdiles, a 36th overall pick in the 2012 draft by the Anaheim Ducks.

He was a star player for the University of Wisconsin in the NCAA and showed great promise.

Now 29 years old, the forward who played for the Ducks and Winnipeg Jets organizations tragically died in a road accident.

We are heartbroken to hear the news. Nic Kerdiles passed away this morning in a motorcycle accident.

Born in Irvine, Nic became the first player from Orange County to play for the Ducks in 2017. Our thoughts and deepest sympathies go out to his family and loved ones." - Anaheim Ducks
