1st player from the Canadiens announces a major change to his equipment following the Johnson tragedy

Following the tragedy involving forward Adam Johnson, we suspected there would be impacts and major changes in the world of hockey.

It's confirmed.


It's now also having effects here, within the Montreal Canadiens organization.


Tonight, as part of the Laval Rocket game, forward Lias Andersson is wearing a neck guard for the very first time.

According to many, this is just the beginning.


Hats off to Lias Andersson! It's a great example to set for the youth and it comes from one of the best players of the Rocket and a possible future player for the Canadiens.

Andersson, 25, signed with the CH last summer.

He has accumulated a very solid 9 points, including 7 goals, in 7 games this season in Laval. A call-up is definitely possible in his case, and so it is with his neck guard that he would arrive with the Tricolore.
