Young Coyotes Winger Officially on the Market: Could Kent Hughes Try to Acquire Him in a Carey Price Trade?
BY AARON SEPTEMBER 21, 2023 (8:36)
Promising Arizona Coyotes forward Jan Jenik has reportedly requested a trade.
Whether under contract or not, he would like to leave the Coyotes organization.
He wants to start a new chapter in the NHL and hopes to "move on," according to information from Craig Morgan of PHNX Sports.
At 22 years old, Jenik was selected by the Coyotes 65th overall in the 2018 draft.
He has been very productive in the AHL despite his young age. He racked up 23 points in 30 games last season, and 47 points in 51 games the previous season.
Although he received a qualifying offer from Arizona in July, he turned it down. (This was eventually resolved, but his intention remains the same.)
This is a situation to closely monitor over the coming days, as training camps start today.
Could Kent Hughes possibly try to acquire a young player like Jenik, perhaps by adding a draft pick and trading Carey Price's contract to Arizona?
