Unexpected Turn of Events: A Scoop About Vladimir Tarasenko just Came Out and he Made a Big Mistake

BY ELLIOT BEN JACOB    JULY 28, 2023  (7:03 PM)
Excellent journalist Andy Strickland, who has solid sources in the NHL, has just revealed very interesting news.

According to his information, at the beginning of the month, forward Vladimir Tarasenko had a four-season contract on the table, with an annual value of $5.5 million per season, from the Ottawa Senators.

He rejected this contract because he believed he could get more.

In the end, a few weeks after turning down this contract worth a total of $22 million, Tarasenko signed a one-season contract worth a total of $5 million. Ouch.

So he left $17 million on the table by deciding to wait, and moreover, he ultimately signed with the same team.

Let's just say he better have a very big season.

Strickland also adds that Tarasenko had the following contracts on the table:

- 1 year and $5.25 million from the Carolina Hurricanes

- 1 year and $6 million from the San Jose Sharks.

Tarasenko, 31 years old, amassed 21 points in 31 games with the New York Rangers last season, and 29 points in 38 games with the St. Louis Blues.

Interesting fact: Tarasenko was drafted with the 16th overall pick in 2010, a pick that initially belonged to the Ottawa Senators, who traded it at the time to the Blues in exchange for David Runblad.
