We just got some great evidence that there really were negotiations for a trade involving Josh Anderson in the last few hours.

According to what tipster David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period is reporting, two teams have been seriously inquiring and two teams have been trying to acquire Anderson, over the past few weeks (as we reported to you).

Those two clubs are the Edmonton Oilers and the New Jersey Devils .

However, because of the high price asked by Kent Hughes at the moment, in exchange for Anderson, these two teams would have decided to put an end to the discussions, at least for the moment.

According to Pagnotta's sources, there are other clubs interested in the power forward's services, but Montreal's asking price remains very high (with good reason).

We can think here of: a 2023 first round pick and a top prospect.

Pagnotta believes that if the price doesn't drop, Anderson will stay in Montreal at least until next summer.

Why? The reason is quite simple: the price asked by Kent Hughes would be very high, and this, even if he does not have an extraordinary season.

In 24 games this season, Anderson has nine points, including seven goals.
