The Montreal Canadiens could acquire another incredible goal scorer as early as next season in case of a difficult year
Even though the young Austrian defenseman was probably the best defenseman available, the fact remains that the 2023 draft class was brimming with offensive talent, and some hockey enthusiasts would have liked to see Kent Hughes and Jeff Gorton draft a forward.
That being said, we will closely monitor Reinbacher's progress, but as reported by Marco Normandin, of site Habsolumentfan.com,the scenario of selecting a forward in the next draft could be evident for the Canadiens organization.
While many experts claim that the 2024 draft will be more focused on defensemen, unlike the 2023 one, there's a young offensive prospect who's turning many heads.
This young hope is named Cole Eiserman.
Originally from Newburyport, Massachusetts, the 5-foot-11, 192-pound left-winger has played with the United States development program in 2022-2023. He is described as a true goal scorer, reminiscent of the songs by the late Bob Bissonnette.
In 62 games, Eiserman scored an impressive total of 69 goals, and many scouts see a mix of Auston Matthews and Cole Caufield in him, especially with his shot.
It's worth noting that he also scored 28 goals in 32 games with the USHL development team. Among his teammates were Will Smith and Gabe Perreault, two players drafted in the first round in 2023.
Cole Eiserman scored 69 goals in 62 games last season with a shot that's been compared to Cole Caufield and Auston Matthews. Now the 2024 NHL Draft prospect is trying to make that shot even better.https://t.co/OYxJ6x2Ivx via @NHLdotcom— Adam Kimelman (@NHLAdamK) August 1, 2023
On most experts' lists, the young American is among the top two prospects of the 2024 class.
Of course, fans can dream of being able to draft a player of this quality, but for Canadiens fans, they will have to hope for another miserable season to be in a position to draft Cole Eiserman, and if that were the case, we would hope that Kent Hughes and Jeff Gorton would lean towards a forward this time.
