During the post-game press conference with Montreal Canadiens head coach Martin St-Louis, we witnessed a special scene.

"Great class by Martin St-Louis, who pays tribute to veteran journalist Pat Hickey.

Hickey decided to retire to save a younger colleague's job." - TVA Sports

Worth watching:

Classy!

To give you some context, in the last few hours we have actually learned that reporter Pat Hickey, who has been covering the Montreal Canadiens for so long for the Montreal Gazette, has announced his retirement.

We also learned that his newspaper was going to make major cuts, but their executives wanted to keep Hickey's services. So Hickey announced his retirement to save a younger reporter's job.

A very honourable gesture, and Martin St-Louis did a great job of pointing it out:

"Martin St-Louis, to Montreal Gazette veteran Pat Hickey :

"I will say this Pat; I heard about the news today, and the way you did it, and the way you're withdrawing - a lot of respect for you and between now and your termination date, you make sure you ask all the questions you want."

For those who don't know the story; Pat Hickey will be retiring voluntarily so that a young Montreal Gazette reporter can keep his job."
