Rumbling around the NHL that Hughes will pull a big trade before the season starts

While many are currently wondering if Kent Hughes will move (or not) between now and the beginning of the next season, the excellent Jimmy Murphy, of Montreal Hockey Now, has just revealed some interesting information.

According to what he reports, people in the NHL believe that he will be able to liquidate the contracts of Josh Anderson or Christian Dvorak, and maybe even Jake Allen, by the beginning of the 2022-23 campaign.

We wanted to come back to this because it still comes from "people within the NHL" and therefore, reliable people. Please also note that he states here that it could actually happen by the start of next season.

Obviously, this would allow the Montreal Canadiens' general manager to have even more room and leeway under the NHL salary cap, a priority for him since the very beginning.

As for Josh Anderson and Christian Dvorak, their names have often been linked to the Winnipeg Jets and Pierre-Luc Dubois.

On the other hand, we believe that if Hughes refused all offers for Anderson at the draft, he should logically start the year in Montreal.

As for Dvorak and Allen, it seems possible that they will leave, especially considering the recent developments:

There will be demand for Allen, that's for sure. One thing that helps, as Murphy reports, is that Geoff Molson has 100% confidence in Kent Hughes and he's going to follow him.

What would you do in his place? Trade Anderson? Dvorak? Allen? All three?
