Possible surprise for the CH: Caufield could start the season with another center than Nick Suzuki

It's hard to separate Nick Suzuki and Cole Caufield, especially since the arrival of Martin St-Louis at the helm of the Habs.

And when you look closely at what the Habs' lineup might look like this season, you can imagine Caufield and Suzuki with a Juraj Slafkovsky, or a Josh Anderson.

However, as my colleagues at Fanadiens.com report, there could be a huge surprise as the Habs begin training camp.

That's because for the past two weeks, Caufield has been practicing with newcomer Kirby Dach on the same line, and there seemed to be a nice chemistry between the two 2019 draft picks.

Could this give Martin St-Louis some ideas when it comes time to make his lineup?

It's obviously too early to jump to conclusions, but with Suzuki out for the next two weeks, it will be interesting to see if the Habs coach might be tempted to experiment with pairing Cole Caufield with Kirby Dach.

As the latter is considered an excellent passer, he could have a great linemate in Caufield, who would be able to complete his plays and who knows, even help him improve his goal scoring, which had been criticized by the Chicago Blackhawks' management.

But be careful, nice chemistry during practices does not necessarily mean that it will work during games but at least, the time that will last the training camp will be conducive to different experiences and Martin St-Louis will have plenty of time to find the right combinations.

This will be something to watch during camp.
