Movement Alert: General Manager Kent Hughes has just released right-handed defenseman Eric Williams

Today, while the Montreal Canadiens are officially off and it's quieter at that level, general manager Kent Hughes made a personnel move, as general manager of the Laval Rocket.

Kent Hughes has just announced that he has released defenseman Eric Williams.

Williams did not collect a single point in nine games in Laval.

All indications are that he will be returning to the ECHL with the Norfolk Admirals after being brought in with the Laval Rocket earlier this season.


Williams, 27, played for Northeastern University in the NCAA and has six points in the AHL and 55 points in the ECHL.
