Marner Throws Teammates Under The Bus
A clip of Mitch Marner speaking to the media was recently analyzed on the Steve Dangle Podcast, and while they might've been looking too far into it, it sure sounds like Marner is blaming his lesser-skilled teammates for the Leafs' woes.
«Brad [Treliving] came in and defended us all, really, and our team. It meant a lot for us that he came in and did that. It's not just four guys on our team, it's a full team effort every single night. It's not the narrative a lot of times, but we all know we gotta be better and that's what we're excited to do when we get the season going.» - Mitch Marner
Marner rightfully says that it shouldn't be a four-player effort, but adds that it doesn't always seem that way in Toronto. This sounds to us like Marner is shifting the blame to his depth teammates for not picking up some slack.
