Major: A Habs player has been targeted for NHL waivers

As the Montreal Canadiens' training camp is just a few weeks away, many experts are speculating on the possible lineup that will be assembled by Kent Hughes and Martin St-Louis.

According to journalist Arpon Basu, a decision already seems likely.

A player has already been targeted for NHL waivers, and it's Rem Pitlick.

Here's an interesting passage from Basu's recent article:


"I take it for granted that unless there are several major injuries in training camp, Rem Pitlick will be placed on NHL waivers."

So, don't be surprised if this is confirmed in the coming weeks for Pitlick.

Pitlick, 26 years old, recorded:

-22 points in 18 games with the Laval Rocket last season

-15 points in 46 games with the Montreal Canadiens last season

-26 points in 46 games with the Montreal Canadiens in 2022

He is signed until 2024 and earns $1.1 million per season.
