Joshua Roy in the lineup for the Montreal Canadiens this season? New information is emerging

Among the young players to watch at the upcoming training camp of the Canadiens, there will be a certain Joshua Roy.

Selected in the fifth round by the team in 2021, the hometown forward is already considered one of the promising offensive prospects within the Canadiens' organization. As we know, the future looks bright for the team. However, it is expected that Joshua Roy will start the season with the Laval Rocket in the American Hockey League, even though he had an impressive training camp.

But as reported by Nicolas Desrosiers from Marqueur.com, it is possible that if call-ups from the farm team are needed during the season, Roy's name could be one of the first to come up to support the NHL club.

This is because many young players in the organization will be entering their first professional season. This will be the case for players like Logan Mailloux, Riley Kidney, and Jayden Struble, among others.


Not to mention players like Emil Heineman and Sean Farrell, who, as a reminder, played a few games with the Canadiens in 2022-2023.

In essence, when looking at the team's situation, Heineman, Farrell, and Roy could very well be the first players called up in case of injuries, and as we know, there have been quite a few injuries for the Canadiens in the last two seasons.
