As we know, the Habs are currently in a rebuilding process and despite a much improved performance this season, the team is not expected to participate in the upcoming playoffs.

However, the new staff is building a team that could be competitive in the next few years. There's still a lot of work ahead for Kent Hughes and Jeff Gorton in the coming weeks, but two prospects in the organization may be closer to the NHL than we think, as reported by Alexandre Desrosiers of Rumeursdetransaction.com.

Speaking to Mario Langlois on 98.5, former Habs defenseman and now the team's development coach Francis Bouillon mentioned that he has an inkling of who the organization's next NHL prospects will be.

According to Bouillon, defenseman Logan Mailloux and forward Joshua Roy are at the top of the list and could be seen in a Habs uniform before too long.

"Logan Mailloux, he's next! He's the next one I see that's going to make the jump pretty quickly with the Habs (...) To me, he's a no-brainer that he's a National League player in the future."

It's a surprise that he immediately names Mailloux, but we love it!

Here's what Bouillon had to say about Roy:

"When you see what he was able to do at the Junior Championship this year, you see that when you put him in a big situation, he's able to perform. So, it bodes great for him."

That's great news to hear from Bouillon, and let's just say that Mailloux and Roy could be the two players to watch at the Habs' upcoming camp in September.
