Former Montreal Canadiens' Zach Redmond Suddenly Announces his Retirement

BY ELIAS     AUGUST 10, 2023  (4:02 PM)
We have news from a former Montreal Canadien.

In the last few hours, defenseman Zach Redmond has announced his retirement from professional hockey.

Redmond, 35, is a 6-foot-2, 215-pound defenseman who played with the Habs in 2017. He is notably remembered as the player that Montreal traded in exchange for Nicolas Deslauriers.

In his NHL career, Redmond amassed 38 points in 133 games, and he spent the last three seasons in the DEL in Germany.

He was also crowned the best defenseman of the DEL in 2021-2022, collecting 41 points in 50 games with Traverse City.

Besides the CH, he played for the Winnipeg Jets, the Buffalo Sabres, and the Colorado Avalanche. Incidentally, Redmond will join the Sabres as a development coach.

We wish him a happy retirement and a wonderful post-career.
