Major news has just come in.

As reported by journalist Guillaume Lefrançois from La Presse, Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens will not be offering a contract to the young goaltender Frederik Dichow by this Thursday's deadline.

Despite his solid World Championship performance, the CH has chosen to let Dichow go for free, who will become completely unattached and able to sign with the organization of his choice.

Let's wager that there will be a lot of interest in the NHL, and this is a decision that is not universally popular.

The young goaltender, who was drafted by the CH in the fifth round in 2019, has played 16 matches this season with the HC Frolunda in the Swedish Elite League.

At the age of 22, he maintained a 2.76 goals against average and a save percentage of .898.

More details to follow.
