Draft trade: A journalist drops a bombshell about the Sharks' 4th overall pick, and Kent Hughes must take advantage of it

In the last few minutes, we've learned significant news concerning the 2023 first round pick of the San Jose Sharks, the fourth overall pick and the one just before the Montreal Canadiens' selection.

According to The Athletic, the Sharks are open to trading their 4th overall pick.

Wow.

This could be a superb opportunity for Kent Hughes and the Habs to move up a slot, or to make a massive move and draft at number four and five (overall) in one of the best class of the last twenty years, for example, by moving up the Panthers' pick.

Imagine drafting Will Smith + Matvei Michkov. It would completely change the face of the franchise.

Of course, the price to move from pick number 31 or 32, up to pick number four, would be colossal, but it might be worth it!

Otherwise, there's the other option, the simpler one.

The price to move up a slot in the top-5

According to a specialized firm, if Kent Hughes wants to acquire, for example, the Sharks' pick (the 4th overall), he would have to give the 5th overall pick + his 2nd round pick (the 37th overall pick).

This is based on a very interesting point system.

Details about this system, right here:

Knowing now that San Jose is ready to trade their 4th overall pick, what would you do?

Would you try to move up a slot? Would you attempt the home run move to draft at ranks four AND five?

A topic to be certainly followed over the next three weeks!
