Despite a disastrous season to say the least, the CH fans were at least following while the show was on. With the recent injury to Cole Caufield, one of the guys who brought life to the team, many fans lost interest in following the Montreal team.

However, there are other interesting aspects to watch out for in the coming months, as Mathias Brunet reminds us in a recent paper.

Even if Juraj Slafkovsky and Kaiden Guhle are on the injured list, other youngsters deserve our attention. Nick Suzuki and Kirby Dach, who despite their status in the club, are relatively young and in full progress.

Samuel Montembeault, Jordan Harris, Arber Xhekaj, Justin Barron, Jesse Ylönen and Rafaël Harvey-Pinard all deserve our attention. And that's not counting all the Laval Rocket players who are likely to come to town to spend some time with injuries.

Fans may also want to keep a close eye on the team's prospects.

Any surprise reinforcements coming to the CH in the next few weeks?

While the likes of Luke Tuch, Jayden Struble and Jakub Dobes will continue their NCAA progression next year, others could very well come in to finish the season with the big club. The likes of Sean Farrell and Emil Heineman would be great candidates to get a taste of the NHL this year.

Brunet does not believe that the excellent young defenseman, Lane Hutson, will emulate Farrell and Heineman this season, he is only 18 years old. The information acquired by the journalist says that the organization will allow him to play a second season next year with Harvard, in the NCAA, a bit like Cole Caufield had done before making the jump to the NHL. He will try to emulate what Cale Makar did in his second season in the NCAA.

Don't want to watch the team's youth or its prospects? Look at the trade deadline instead. It's fast approaching on March 3rd and rumors and speculation will be rampant between now and then. It will be interesting to see what Kent Hughes will do with his veterans Jonathan Drouin, Joel Edmundson, Sean Monahan, Evgeni Dadonov and especially if he will manage to get a third first round pick for the next draft.

In short, despite a second half of the season that seems less interesting, the options are numerous to satisfy the fans!

"Barring a major surprise, Sean Farrell will join the Habs this spring after his season in the college ranks." - The Press

So Hughes would really be on track to sign Farrell, as soon as the NCAA season ends, and possibly Heineman as well, two players who have been really surprising this season.

It will be really interesting to watch and it would be a nice surprise to see them land in Montreal soon!

In the case of Farrell, it seems almost done, and in the case of Heineman, it seems really realistic. For the important details:
