Development: A new hometown forward leaves the Montreal Canadiens, and it is Joël Teasdale

We had always hoped for a turnaround in the situation for the Montreal Canadiens, but unfortunately, that is not the case.

In an intriguing interview with Simon-Olivier Lorange from La Presse, hometown forward Joël Teasdale has confirmed his departure from the Montreal Canadiens organization.

Not qualified by Kent Hughes and currently an unrestricted free agent, Teasdale could have reached an agreement with the Habs, but that won't be happening.

Based on the interview, it's clear that his time with the team has come to an end.

"The Canadiens are my childhood team, so of course, I would have liked to continue with them." - Teasdale

"In an uncommon occurrence in a professional athlete's career, it will be the first time, at 24 years old, that Joël Teasdale will establish himself away from home to make a living from his sport." - Simon-Olivier Lorange

He won't be in Montreal or Laval.

It seems he will be leaving Montreal to continue his career with another NHL team.

Although he hasn't signed yet, he has received offers and is confident in finding employment for the upcoming season.

At 24 years old, he will have to adapt to life in English for the first time, after playing in Quebec throughout his career.
