On Monday night, in the inaugural game for Junior Team Canada, the host team attempted the famous "Michigan" maneuver on two occasions. Neither attempt, by Connor Bedard and Adam Fantilli, ended up in the back of the net.

If the gestures were spectacular, they are not lacking in arrogance. When you consider how Canada finally got handled during this game, the two future high draft picks could have saved themselves a little embarrassment...

On Tuesday morning, in the Canadian locker room, Dylan Guenther said that it will take more than just crazy moves to win the tournament.

"We're not going to win the tournament on Michigan."

"We're trying to win by just relying on our talent, outwitting guys in one-on-one situations. To win, we have to play as a team." - Dylan Guenther

For his part, while not openly denouncing the actions of his two players, the team's head coach, Dennis Williams, instead expressed his displeasure with the play chosen and especially the timing of it.

"There's a time for everything. I wish we went to the dangerous spots with more conviction. There were better plays to make than Michigan." - Dennis Williams

Based on the comments, it would be surprising to see another "Michigan" move from the Canadian side during this tournament!
