In the last few seconds, another hometown player has officially left the Montreal Canadiens organization.

Forward Danick Martel has just signed with HPK Hämeenlinna in Liiga, Finland.

He signed a one-year contract.

Martel, 28 years old, is a 5 feet 8 inches tall and 176 pounds forward. He spent the last two seasons within the Montreal Canadiens organization, playing for the Laval Rocket (AHL).

In 2022, he accumulated 33 points and 17 goals, along with 15 points in 15 playoff games, and 12 points in 2023.

"Martel is excited to experience the playing style on a larger rink and the intensity of European fans. His partner and their dog will join him later in this city located 100 km from Helsinki." - Alex Desrosiers

He will be the only Quebec-born player in his team.
