The asking price? A 2nd-round pick in the next NHL draft.

In essence, the goal here is not to start a rumor, but simply to let you know that this option is clearly on the table.

If Kent Hughes wants to acquire goaltender Vladar, all he has to do is send a 2nd-round pick in the 2024 draft to the Flames, and it will be done.

It's worth noting that we are talking about the 2024 2nd-round pick of the Colorado Avalanche, not the Montreal Canadiens' (a big difference).

Would we make this trade? For now, no.

However, it's an option to keep in mind if unfortunately, Montembeault does not have a season that meets expectations.

Vladar, 25 years old, is a 6-foot-5, 210-pound goaltender. He has a career record of 29-14-8 in the NHL with a 2.85 goals-against average, and he has been simply dominant in the AHL.
