A concrete trade proposal involving Jeff Petry and the Canadiens has just surfaced

It's very rare to see this, but since he was reacquired by the Montreal Canadiens, Jeff Petry is already involved in numerous trade rumors.

His name is circulating a lot, and we have several clues that lead us to believe that Kent Hughes is trying to trade him.

As the excellent Maxim Lapierre mentions, the Edmonton Oilers should definitely be interested in Petry.




That said, and considering the credible information circulating, here is what a new trade involving Petry might look like today.

A trade proposal:

Jeff Petry, with salary retained

7th round pick 2024

TO THE CANADIENS:

2nd round pick 2024 from Edmonton

Retain part of Petry's salary
